Food Resolutions: More of the Good Stuff in 2019
The word on everybody’s mind this time of year? Resolutions. Like setting an intention at the beginning of your yoga class, a resolution sets your intention for the year to come. Of course, as a plant-based restaurant, we’re focusing on ways we can resolve to make 2019 about doing more good for our bodies and for the world through food.
We’re filing it into two categories: things we’re doing less of, and things we’re doing more of.
Food waste. Buy what you need, use what you buy.
Meat and dairy. If you’re not already doing it, why not try exploring a plant-based diet?
Packaging waste. Buy bulk or choose brands that use responsible packaging practices. And remember your reusable grocery bags!
Negative talk. Everyone is allowed indulgences and off-days. It’s nothing to dwell on. Instead, focus on what you’re doing right!
Plant-based foods. Fill your plate with all the color and flavor provided by Mother Earth.
Local and organic foods. Better for the earth, better for your community and better for you.
Exploring new recipes! Make a commitment to try one new recipe per week.
Meal prep. Make your life easier by setting aside time to plan and prepare food for the week ahead.
Gratitude. Pure and simple.
Volunteering. There are always ways to get involved with the causes you support.
And a final note on resolutions. We usually focus on changing the things we don’t like about ourselves. Trying to make ourselves “better.” But here’s the thing, what if we’re already pretty damn great? What if, this year, the resolutions we set aren’t about trying to change who we are? Let’s focus on doing more of the things that make us feel good in order to make less space for the things that don’t.

2018 was a big year for us. We’re excited for more plant-based goodness, more friends, more hugs, and more happy memories in 2019.
